2010 - Travels in Review

So the time in Portland, Oregon wasn't so much about traveling as it was about learning. I lived in Portland for several months to attend culinary school and Alan managed to work remotely for a spell. We would head back home to Eugene for the weekend and then I'd train it or drive back Monday morning.

Portland, I miss your cupcakes, french fries, and crepes but most of all, I miss our friends. Alan misses Escape from New York pizza and our friends.

Don't forget that there was a couple of trips to see Jenn in Silverton, tour the wineries, and just hang. Biscuits and gravy at O'Briens, half an order and your stomach will thank you later.

Seattle was a fun trip. We have wonderful family and friends who shared the food and cupcakes. Ah, good times. Aroon and Aarthi, please come see us! And soon, Cancun, right?!
Blame Canada for the overpriced and awful crepes at True North Gelato. They also need to work on the cupcakes... The gardens and butterflies were a real treat though and traveling on the clipper was fast.

The trip down the aisle was next and probably the best adventure yet to come!

Knowing our time was limited in Oregon, we figured we better head to the red woods in Northern California before we moved. Alan has introduced me to the wonderful world of backpacking and camping. We had a bit of Divine Cupcake intervention before the drive. We found the trees and played yahtzee among them.

The big move was next, from Oregon to Utah. Boxes, boxes, and boxes. The house still hasn't sold but we are managing. After we moved here, we did the loop to visit family. Grandma, uncles and aunts, cousins, and my sister and her family within an easy drive! The first time ever camping with my little sister was a blast and I cannot wait until next summer to do it again.

The last big trip of 2010 was the honeymoon to Greece. We managed to time it well and we even caught up with Kevin and Laurel in Rhodes. Greece is busy, ancient, troubled, and visual. My brain is still full of the sights, sounds, and smells.

What does 2011 have in store for us? We have no idea but we are always open to suggestions!
