Portland, La Boheme, Japanese Gardens

We headed to Portland Friday night to see the opening night of La Boheme by the Portland Opera. The venue was great, I really liked the sets, and I thought some of the characters did a phenomenal job.

The next morning, we headed to the Portland Japanese Gardens and arrived just in time for an hour tour. The tour group was large, and it was difficult to hear the guide until we stayed close, so after the tour we retraced the entire gardens to spend more time at certain places and to hunt for lanterns. The guide said there were 28 lanterns, but we were only able to find 18 (I think).

ETA: Pictures are here!

Beautiful lanterns! Wow, you found quite a few! I think the Portland Rose Garden is near the Japanese Garden. The roses are wonderful in in June. We've been to the Rose Parade and Festival. Beautiful spot!
