Dresden, day one

We have arrived in Dresden. Our flight to Frankfurt landed on time, or a little early, so we made a gamble at trying for the earlier flight to Dresden (1 hour layover vs. 4 hours). The lady at the ticketing counter wanted $250 each for the change fee, so we decided to wait it out. We headed to our gate and decided to try asking the person at the gate. The plane had boarded and there were seats available, and the "flight manager" (funny guy) decided to let us on without the upgrade fee. He, along with everyone else was surprised that we didn't have checked luggage ("why not?"). So we made the earlier flight, took the S-Bahn to Dresden Mitte, and wandered around looking for our hotel for a little while (forgot to bring a map - doh).

After showering and getting ready, we headed out along the Elbe toward all the attractions. We walked through the Zwinger, by the Opera house, the Frauenkirche, and down Prager Strasse, before we needed to return to the hotel to crash.

We were tired and hungry, so we found a small cafe to grab a bite to eat. I ate a ciabatta roll mit kase and tomato. Misty had Insalate Caprese (salad). She seriously eyed the apple cake, but held off for now.

We headed back to the hotel for rest, and now we're up at around 5am (not quite adjusted to European time yet).
